I found this place in the middle of Lynn of all places. I’m posting this picture a couple weeks after I took it, but I still thought it was extremely cool. I tried hiking around the entire lake, but after two hours I had to turn around, still not even making it half way!

Cooking some breakfast before two tests. One’s biochemistry, and the other’s sociology. I’m a little aprehensive, but we’ll see how it goes. I studied hard, so hopefully it goes well. I’m going to start dating this stuff so I can go back and see what I was doing later on.

It was a really funky night when I took this picture. I was still studying hard for finals and I was picking up some food for my family from a small diner. I couldn’t help but stop and enjoy the sunset. It made me feel like I was pulled back in time to the nineteen fifties or something.
So you know how you take a picture on your phone and it never looks like what you’re actually seeing? So I’ve been playing around with photoediting, changing the brightness and saturation and stuff, and I’m blown away with what I can do to match something the best I can to what I’m actually seeing. School is over, but I still find looking at trees with red leaves fascinating on a biological level. Why are red leaves an advantage over having green leaves?
This sculpture is called The Caring Hand located in Glarus Switzerland. I stumbled on this picture on the internet and liked the way it looked. It seemed cool.
This is a shelter I built and isn’t much to look at. It’s mostly made out of vines and half rotten wood due to the surrounding swamp, but it is something I spent a lot of time on while I mulled over ideas for my book or cleared my head.
This is what I draw most of my inspiration from and one of the reasons why I don’t write much during the winter. There is something about green leaves on trees that inspires me to write. When that’s gone during the winter, I have to draw inspiration from other sources.
The first warm day of the year. Being out on my hammock doing some homework surrounded by the clearing and bushcraft projects I created for myself during the winter brings a sense of contentment that makes me want to write.
Getting ready for the day. Woke up early to do some MCAT studying and cook some breakfast. Spent yesterday studying for Biochemistry and MCAT organic chemistry. The organic chemistry for MCAT is very different from what I learned, but there are enough similarities where I can rely on my past knowledge. I saw this scene out my window while my food was cooking, so I couldn’t help but take a picture.

Little Joe Would be happy. I finally got into a lab and am doing the sciency stuff I always wanted to do as a kid. The only difference with what I’m doing now and what I thought I would be doing as a kid is this stuff is way more detailed and complicated. It’s freaking awesome!
I was outside listening to a really good audio book when I took this picture. I’m not normally a fan of audio books, but I was starting to burn out and couldn’t focus all that well. The audio book was perfect for me to really look at my surroundings and enjoy the greenery. This is a heavy contrast to the first picture I took when it was just getting warm out.
Finally taking a break from studying organic chemistry to “stop and smell the roses” in a manner of speaking. Knowing what the molecules you are smelling really changes how you look at nature (for the better in my opinion). With that said, I needed a break from thinking about that stuff and enjoy some nature and stop trying to understand it.
Cooking food in the freezing cold on a fire you made yourself is easily one of the best things. This obviously isn’t a survival situation, but being able to be out in the elements and thrive gives me deep satisfaction and inspiration.
This is a picture of somewhat undeveloped land with factories dotted across it taken from the other side of the bay. For some reason, this inspires me to write.
